Ehang Seeks To Be 1st To Land Air Taxis In China
Shares of EHang (EH -0.36%) lost 20.1% in March, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence. The stock has been under pressure since short-selling firm Wolfpack Research issued a skeptical report on the company in February and fell last month amid broader valuations in the tech sector.
The excitement surrounding EHong’s initiative to develop and launch autonomous flying taxis and other aerial drones has led to a surge in stocks over the past year, but the market for such products is still young. EHong’s stock hit an all-time high in February, and it’s no surprise that its shares have fallen since last month’s selloff in growth-linked tech stocks.
EHang shares are up about 192% over the past year, but are down about 72% from their all-time high of $129.80 in February. The stock’s rally was interrupted by a bearish report from Wolfpack Research, which said EHang’s “broad stock rally was largely based on false earnings with buyers of fraudulent sales contracts that appeared to help propel the stock higher.” interested in doing.” In value. “Your investment in EH, it increases the price of EH’s stock more than if you were actually buying this product.”
Yiheng replied that he did not believe that buyer Kunxiang had ever had a major stake in the company, but that Wolfpack’s brief report had a lasting effect on the company’s stock price. EHang had some business news to announce last month, but a recent short-selling report on tech stocks and market pressure seem to have played a big role in its stock’s performance.
Ehang Accused Of Stock Scam In New Report
EHang issued a press release on March 16 announcing its partnership with Italian architecture firm Giancarlo Zima Design Group. Giancarlo Zima designed and built an ecologically sustainable vertical takeoff and landing launch pad for EHang’s aircraft and other aerial mobility vehicles in Italy.
EHang shares fell further in early April. The company’s shares are down about 6% so far this month.
E-Hing will announce its fourth quarter results on April 16. With a highly speculative outlook, EHang stock will be subject to volatility if the stock market becomes volatile. Some investors seem to be moving to growth-oriented tech stocks and companies that are fundamentally safe, which could spell trouble for EHang stock. If the company’s autonomous aircraft program falls behind schedule, the stock could fall further.
EHang has a market capitalization of about $1.85 billion and trades at about 21 times this year’s expected sales.
